CLUB BASED REFEREES COURSE

Club Based Referees is a great concept, allowing coaches and parents of youth teams, or traveling supporters of senior teams (who don’t play but are regularly coerced onto the park with a whistle), to gain confidence as a referee, learn the laws of the game, and qualify as a referee, without going onto the referees panel or being sent to matches not involving the team to which they are connected.

All coaches or parents taking the whistle in youth games, and we know many, many do each weekend, would benefit from this short and inexpensive course.  We also know that at the start of a season everyone is into training and playing, and sometimes coaches aren’t press-ganged, sorry, organized, until the last minute.

So get ahead of the game right now!  Soccer2 is running a CBR course in early October so that it doesn’t clash with the pre-season rush, at a central location for convenience for the maximum numbers.  Rather than two evenings we’re also experimenting with a one-day course.  The same details as here will be posted on the website, but given that the season is all but done please could clubs forward this info to coaches who might be interested in rounding out their skills and knowledge to include refereeing.

Please could you come back to me with numbers and contact details of anyone from your club interested in taking the course.
